Africa Skills Hub in partnership with World University Service Canada (WUSC) Ghana has launched the Young Female Business Support Initiative (YFBSI) to implement measures that will mitigate the adverse effects of COVID-19 pandemic and provide relief for businesses and households.

The adverse effects of COVID-19 pandemic have had a significant impact on the economy of Ghana, threatening the survival of businesses, causing a drastic reduction in MSMEs profitability and increased woes of livelihood.

Africa Skills Hub has been committed to empowering women over the years as youth employment and business incubator. YFBSI seeks to provide direct financial and market access for female-led businesses. Also to engage duty bearers and stakeholders in promoting strategic investments as well as public and private partnerships. Lastly, to directly address gender gaps by providing capacity building for young women entrepreneurs to navigate and enhance their profitability during and post COVID 19 season.

Our first cohort will kick off in February 2021.


  • Must be a Young female Student Entrepreneur or a Young Female Entrepreneur not more than 35 years.
  • Can commit fully to the entire training program from February 2021 to October 2022.


YFBSI offers 2 years of Entrepreneurial training and Business incubation for Young Female Student Entrepreneurs or Young Female Entrepreneurs. The program offers many benefits to selected candidates including;

  • Beneficiaries will be introduced to networking events and workshops by partner hubs meant to help them to collaboratively grow.
  • Pitch day and introduction to other investor opportunities available will enlighten beneficiaries and give them access.
  • Digital Presence for each entrepreneur and online productivity training.
  • Access to Africa Skills Hub Whitehall Fund
  • Direct marketing support
  • The building of an Online Shopping platform, and the training of the usage for scaling of the business.
